Gaza, Dominators look to maintain group lead
The Kenneth De Abreu and Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) League continues today at the Malteenoes Sports Club where the Gaza and Dominators teams will look to maintain their leads in the respective groups of the tournament.
Gaza’s Jamaal Duff, Sunil Logan and Chelsea Edghill won two matches last Saturday at the fourth weekend of the League with wins against Dragon Warriors’ Kyle Edghill and Alistair Parks and the Bank of Guyana.
They are ahead in Division C, which is the group for intermediate players. Meanwhile, a disciplined approach from Dominators saw them take over the lead in Division E, which is the group for the semi-intermediate players.
Dominators’ Chelsea Edghill, Olivia Weeks and Priscilla Greaves won against Eagles in tough playoff in the group last weekend.
They took over the lead with that win and will look to maintain that form at the inaugural event today.
The other groups in the competition are Division ‘A’ for senior and advanced players and Division ‘B’ for advanced players.
Nigel’s Supermarket have already wrapped up the title in the Business Corporations group last weekend.
