Play in the Essequibo zone of the Carib Beer sponsored and Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport/Guyana Softball League organised commenced with victories for United Brothers and Reliance Warriors.
In results from the games played: At El Dorado Ground:
United Brothers Sports Club defeated El Dorado Sports Club by 9 wkts.
El Dorado won the toss and batted scoring 129 all out in 14.5 overs (Haresh Rampersaud 53; Khemraj Dass 29; Anil Doerga 3-13 from 3 overs; Raymond Taylor 3-18 from 3 overs; Jermaine Taylor 3-21 from 3 overs). In reply United Brothers Sports Club cruised to 133-1 in 14 overs (Ravendra Dass 84; Jermaine Trotman 33 not out; Mohamed Amin 2-28 from 3 overs).
At Reliance Ground:
Reliance Warriors made light work of Cullen Sports Club by 42 runs.
Reliance Warriors batted first after winning the toss and made a challenging 131 all out in 14.2 overs (Shivnandan Madholall 61; Narendra Madholall 24; Rupee Singh 3-23 from 3 overs ). In reply Cullen Sports Club were limited to 89 all out in 14 overs (Shane Richards 24; Kumar Persaud 24; Shivnandan Madholall 5-15 from 3 overs).
