2008 overall champion Ryan Rahaman in an interview with Kaieteur Sport yesterday via telephone said he believes that with the modification currently being done on his Sierra Cosworth car, he is still the man to beat.
Rahaman, who campaigns in the Group 3 and 2B categories, revealed that a lot of stuff has been bought for the car and he expects it to be much quicker than before, especially with the improvements being done to the engine as well as the installation of a new electronic management system that they’ve brought in.“Because of the modification that is being done, I think that we will be much faster since there will be improved horsepower,” young Rahaman disclosed.
The local speedster stated that he is cognizant of the fact that the opposition will be coming hard at him, but is confident of holding them off.
He pointed to Trinidadians Tanko Baboolall, Ravi Singh, Guyana’s Gavin Gayadin and Barbadian Phillip Moe as those to watch.
Rahaman added that he is hoping that all the work that is being done on the cars finish by next week so that he could get into the other phase of preparation which is to start testing at the track.
So far, Rahaman is unbeaten in the 2B category and according to him, he intends keep it that way come November 8.
