The East Coast Zone Hand-in-Hand 50 overs knockout competition final will be contested between LBI Sports Club and the winner of the Fairfield versus Lusignan game.
LBI team includes the lights of prolific opening batsman Parmanand Rampersaud, Khemraj Jaikarran, Nizam Khan and the experienced of Nayatanand Manbodh, Indrajit Singh & Virjanand Singh. The East Coast Cricket Board has suspend its competition this weekend so as to allow cricket enthusiasts to view the final.
Meanwhile, in action from the East Coast Board Presidents Cup competition, Rockaway hammered Plaisance by 140 runs at the Rockaway Sports Club ground.
In damp overcast conditions Rockaway won the toss and elected to bat and posted 289-5 in their allotted 30 overs. Calvin Sookraj smashed 113 runs ( 17 x 4, 4 x 6) and was steadily supported by Hafeez Alli, 41, (5 x 4, 2 x 6), Deonauth Ramlall 37 (3 x 4, 2 x 6) and Mahendra Dookna, 28* (3 x 4, 2 x 6).
The pick of the Plaisance bowlers were Keith Haynes, 2-33 and Rolston Demister, 2-60. In Plaisance innings they were bundled out for 149 in 21.4 overs. The only substantial score came from Keith Sam 54 (9 x 4, 2 x 6). Munesh Manohar claimed a five wicket haul, 5-32 and was ably supported by Calvin Sookraj 2-20 and Mahendra Dookna 2-36.
