Another attorney at law, Joann Alexis Bond, was admitted to the local Bar, yesterday.
Ms Bond had her petition presented by attorney at law Nigel Hughes before Justice Roxanne George-Wiltshire.
The former Comenius Primary School student successfully wrote the Secondary School Entrance Examination in 1997. She gained a place at President’s College.
She began the law programme at the University of Guyana in 2004 and graduated with her law degree in 2007.
Bond went on to the Hugh Wooding Law School later that year and graduated this year with her Certificate of Legal Education.
Justice George-Wiltshire urged the new attorney at law to never forget that she is the lawyer and that she would be in charge—not the client.
She further told the attorney that one must not be attracted to the glamour of the profession, but more importantly to properly prepare her case.
Joann Bond is the sister of attorney at law James Bond. The new lawyer attributed her success to her parents and other siblings who encouraged her extensively.
She is at present attached at the law offices of Hughes, Fields and Stoby.
