Tutorial High School is celebrating its 70th anniversary, with a whole host of activities planned for the next few days.
Founded in 1939 by Joseph W. Castello and Austin C. Castello, the school now boasts 70 years of excellent service to its students, who were on Monday commended by their teachers and members of the Board of Directors of the school, as well as members of the school’s Alumni for their performance at the Caribbean Secondary Examinations Council (CSEC).
Greetings came from the Toronto, New York and United Kingdom Alumni, all of which promised continuous support.
The events for the anniversary kicked off with a Thanksgiving Service last Sunday.
The programme continued with an athletics championship, yesterday; an open-day food sale and a concert.
A moment of silence was observed at the Thanksgiving Service for those past students who have “moved on to the Great Beyond”, including Mr. Laurie Alexander who died on March 19, last, after a two-week coma.
The next event is the Open Day Food Sale, which will take place in the school’s compound on Thursday.
The anniversary celebration comes to an end on Friday October 9, with the staging of a concert at the school.
