The many water woes being experienced may soon be addressed at the community level. As part of the Government’s strategy for the improvement of the Nation’s Water Sector, the Ministry of Housing and Water, through Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI), is set to launch a massive customer service programme.
Titled “Camp Resolution,” it will encompass visits by GWI teams to several locations across Guyana.
In a press statement GWI indicates that customers will have the opportunity to interact with the Minister of Housing and Water, Irfaan Ali, as well as senior GWI officials, stationed at strategic locations within communities, including schools and community centres. The “Camp” will serve as mobile GWI offices, offering customers all the services they expect from GWI including leak repair, billing queries, bill payments and the installation of new service connections.
According to Minister Irfaan Ali,”what is unique about this exercise is the fact that customers will have all their GWI related queries and problems resolved on the spot. I urge every customer to take advantage of this programme, our aim is to ensure that everyone who visits the “Camp”, leaves a satisfied GWI customer.”
Minister Ali emphasised that the “Camp” forms part of GWI’s strategic plan to significantly enhance its customer service, “on every level, the Company is making strides to improve the quality of service it provides to the Guyanese people, “Camp Resolution” is an integral part of that strategy and I urge all customers to support this venture, as it holds their best interest at heart.”
Chief Executive, GWI, Yuri Chandisingh echoing the Minister’s sentiments said “it’s an exciting time for us here at GWI. Our ‘Camp’ will be equipped with field service investigators, accounts maintenance and customer service staff and our leakage repair teams. This will allow us to respond to any customer complaint presented and our team will ensure that all complaints are rectified immediately. Customers unable to visit our offices can make bill payments at the “Camp” as well.”
GWI’s “Camp Resolution” will commence next Saturday, October 10, simultaneously at Charity, Adventure and Supenaam on the Essequibo Coast. The GWI team will commence resolving complaints from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM and customers are asked to present all relevant documents including water bills. Full details of all the “Camp Resolution” locations will be published in the press and GWI’s corporate website www.gwiguyana.com. Customers are invited to contact GWI’s Public Relations Department on 225-0477 to inquire when the “Camp” will be visiting their community.
