“Obviously it is really a good start that I’ve made the West Indies team, but as you know I would like to help myself and this is a going to inspire me to do well and make my sponsor proud,” Griffith said.
He thanked the sponsor for the assistance, adding that it is always good to see someone or a business entity willing to help a young cricketer. Griffith further stated that it is good to see business entities eager to help young cricketers and for this he is thankful to the assistance offered by Yenkana.
Yenkana in his response disclosed that since he saw the youngster bat he was very impressed and on hearing that he did not have a bat of his own spurred him to make the donation.
“Seeing him bat and hearing that he had made the West Indies team was what inspired me to assist him and this is not the end of our association, I will commit to helping him in the future,” Yenkana promised.
Yenkana said he hoped that the bat will assist him in his preparations to make the final squad to represent West Indies in the tournament.
