Ryan Rajmangal (left) and Avinash Persaud (centre) show off their gear in the presence of Proprietor of Universal Sports Store, Andrew Budhan.
The Universal Sports Store situated in Fifth Street Alberttown (next door to DHL) has once again risen to the corporate call to support local sports persons.
Last Thursday morning Manager of that organization, Mr. Andrew Budhan handed over corporate packages to two notable sportsmen. One of them, National U-17 opening batsman, Ryan Rajmangal, received a bat, batting gloves, skins and spikes, gears that he said were much needed.
Rajmangal, who is also an employee of the sports store, was indeed grateful for the gift and told Mr. Budhan just so. He said that the price of sports gear is very prohibitive and he has been experiencing difficulties acquiring qualitative ones. As such when Mr. Budhan acquiesced to his request for help the young batsman was extremely delighted.
Another benefactor of Mr. Budhan’s chivalry was Avinash Persaud, a golfer of distinction.
The young man received a return ticket to Trinidad and Tobago to facilitate his participation in that country’s open golf tournament this month end. Persaud also received money to facilitate his accommodation while in the Twin Island Republic.
Meanwhile, Mr. Budhan leaves the country over the weekend to witness the golf tournament as well as lend moral support to his charge. He said that Universal Sports Store is committed to the development of local sports and he had no problem in doling out the sponsorship packages to Rajmangal and Persaud.
He subsequently wished them all the best in this and future endeavours.
Both beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Mr. Budhan and committed to excellent performances in their respective fields.
