…after son’s love affair sours
“A constable of the Enmore police station said he would look into the matter immediately but never did,” Savita Pereira told Kaieteur news yesterday.
Pereira, who lives at 203 Foulis, Enmore, East Coast Demerara, went on to express that she is on a daily basis harassed by her neighbour.
She stated that her neighbour (a male) would insult her with lewd remarks and reveal his private parts in an openly wicked manner to her and her children.
“This kind of behaviour is not right; I have a young teenage daughter, and this is psychologically affecting her,” Pereira said.
However, what the woman is peeved about is the fact that despite several reports to the Enmore Police Station, the matter was never investigated, as the man continues with his lawless behaviour, she said.
“Despite numerous reports made to the police station, the matter was never looked into and this man is continuing his lawlessness,” the woman said.
Kaieteur News contacted the Enmore police station, where an officer noted that investigations are ongoing into the matter.
However, the officer was not at liberty to say if the neighbour’s home was visited or if he was questioned about the complaint made against him.
But Pereira is of the opinion that the police are doing nothing about the matter from the police perspective. She explained that as recent as yesterday morning, she saw the neighbour neatly dressed leaving his home, going about his business.
“This situation is tiring and frustrating… there is no reason for this man to behave in such a manner towards me,” Pereira expressed.
She noted that the entire situation came about when her son developed a ‘liking’ for his daughter.
“He wasn’t please with it and therefore the relationship they had ended… yet he still continues to behave maliciously towards us.”
