Dear Editor,
The Office of the President needs to portray more statesmanship. Today, the trend to solve problems by the Office of the President seems to be one which is very spiteful and tends to personalise every single problem they are faced with, which is most unprofessional for the status of that office.
In recent times, we have seen a masquerade of the Office of the President’s hostile behaviour, attacking anyone who comes in its path with criticism. The problem is not its attempt to defend those criticisms, since they have the right to do so, but rather the manner in which those problems are being addressed.
This office is filled with a bunch of stooges and weak pitbulls, and only seem to be active when they are called upon to defend criticisms. At other times, they go into hibernation while the government’s work runs amok.
Why when the ordinary concerned citizen sees a problem at the Office of the President and thinks it should be addressed and so publicize it, these weak pitbulls and stooges personalise the problem in a hostile and biased way. This is a sign of weakness, that they lack the capacity to effectively and competently deal with any issue at hand.
Imagine, if the Office of the President cannot deal with little issues, regarding concerned citizens, how can they effectively deal with the country’s problems? It is therefore safe to say that the Office of the President, supposing to be the highest office in this country, is filled with mediocre and petty people who lack the skills to push this country forward; and this is a problem which should be addressed immediately.
It is time we take real action to change the present political atmosphere of Guyana, since we are the future of this nation. We have nothing to gain from neither the Office of the Present or from the present political parties of Guyana, and this is why I call on all voters between the ages of 18-25 years, to stand up and be counted. It is time for our voices to be heard, it is time we get rid of this old politics which has stagnated our country’s development.
Again, I call on all those persons who are interested in forming a new political party that is truly devoted to change must indicate so now. Only you can make the change, because the change lies in your hands.
Let us unite and join hands in an effort to rally for change now.
M. Alexander
