At the Plaisance ground yesterday Seawall defeated Victoria Kings two goals to nil in a riveting battle of the Guyana Football Federation Super League.
Victoria Kings who showed superiority throughout the game were overcome by the Seawall team. Seawall with little aggression in the first half, still seem to produce tremendous goal scoring opportunities as their opponents. Those opportunities were however not converted leaving the score cards untouched at the end of the first half.
With more aggression at the start of the second half Seawall continued to produce opportunities.
They were not however converted until the 67th minute, when Gideon Payne of Seawall dribbled a defender to make a cross which was tucked by his teammate Clement Brown. With the score one goal to nil Victoria Kings continued their fight.
Goal scorer Clement Brown was issued a yellow card in the 75th minute for committing an improper tackle. Brown continued to attack and took on the King’s goalkeeper in the 91st minute to produce a second goal and increase his team lead.
Seawall who only had one point after a draw with Alpha United moves up to four points.
