– captures St John’s College championship
Ramdyal House executed its plan to perfection on Thursday when they captured the Saint John’s College Inter-House Track and Field Championships dethroning Nichols House at the Guyana National Service ground with 745 points.
Stewart House that finished at the bottom of the table last year also defeated Nichols with 589 points compared to last year’s winners’ 578 points. Ralph Zepyher and Tamara Williams were the teachers responsible for Ramdyal.
Zepyher, Ramdyal House Master, told Kaieteur Sport that they had planned to have two athletes in every event so that they will guarantee points, which is what they tested and came out with the top result on Thursday. “We took a policy decision to ensure that we have two athletes in every event and if that was done we knew that our points would improve. We had some good athletes from the primary schools into form one,” Zepyher indicated.
The House Master said that a programme will be devised to ensure that the House remain on top with some work being done with the school’s new Physical Education teacher from China. (Edison Jefford)
