Saturday’s keenly contested golf tournament at the Lusignan Golf Club which was sponsored by Guyana Bank for Trade & Industry attracted a large field of 30 players and saw some sparkling golf. Mohanlall “Suntoo” Dinanath emerged winner with an electrifying sub-par score of 69 for net score of 65 and in the process winning both the best net and best gross prizes.
Fresh from his successful exploits in Suriname, Dinanath continued his fine form in turning in what may be the first below par score in a competition for decades.
Second place went to the consistent Munaf Arjune (handicap 10) who prevailed in the countback with Albert Russell (handicap 19) both having finished with net scores of 67.
The Nearest to Pin prize was won by Ronald Bulkan.
At the presentation ceremony Club Captain, Jerome Khan was loud in praise for GBTI who have been supporters of the Lusignan Golf Club for decades and who are annual sponsors of the tournament.
GBTI’s Admin Supervisor Surendra Samdass presented the prizes to the outstanding players.
