Chandrika Shiwprasad hit an unbeaten century as Brewery Department scored a convincing eight-wicket win over Vehicle Workshop in the Banks DIH Ltd. Inter-Department 12-over Tapeball Cricket final played recently at Thirst Park. The prolific batsman struck 104 not out as defending champions Brewery scored 148 for 2 in reply to Vehicle Workshop’s total of 145-6.
Earlier, veteran batsman Owen Grannum scored a mature 82 while extras contributed a reasonable 35 in Vehicle Workshop’s total of 145-6 off their allotted 12 overs.
Bowling for Brewery, Roysden Barnwell captured 2-18 while Eustace Hinds bagged 2-19.
Brewery had advanced to the final with a comfortable win over Sales and Marketing Department while Vehicle Workshop got the better of Soft Drink Plant in their semi-final encounter.
Brewery Department came out victorious in last year’s tournament.
Twelve departments took part in the competition organised by Banks DIH Sports Club.
The presentation of prizes will be made during the Company’s Bonus meeting later this year.
