Central Mackenzie demoralised Watooka and Richmond Hill combined Wednesday night when the inaugural Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport (MCYS) Inter-Block Basketball Championships continued at the Mackenzie Sports Club. Central Mackenzie deflated Watooka/Richmond Hill with a 91-52 points’ victory as Luis James led on offence with 18 points with support from Neil Marks, who scored 15 points, Orin Rose 11 and Devon Gittens 10 points for Central.
Darwin Lovell was the only player in double figures for Watooka/Richmond Hill with 16 points. In the other game of the double-header, First, Second and Third Alley/Silver City got a walkover against Canvas City/1 Mile/1/2 Mile.
The competition continues tonight when Front Scheme Amelia’s Ward takes on Watooka and Richmond Hill combined and Silvertown comes up against Block 22 Wisrock in the featured game at the Mecca of basketball in Linden.
