Hampshire CC defeated Orient CC by 39 runs as play in the Guyana Beverage Inc. Busta 20/20 cricket competition continued last Sunday at the Bartica Community Centre Ground with one match.
Led by Troy Harper 45, Ravi Sewnarine 42 and Festus Ben 29 Hampshire, who batted first, made 165 for 6 off their 20 overs. Damien Daniels 2-41 and Steve Ramdial 2-48 were the main wicket takers for Orient who could only muster 126 – 9 in their allotted overs.
Curtis James top scored with 54 while Daniels returned to score 46 as Jerome Basdeo (3-42) and A. Jagroo (3-17) bowled well for the winners. The competition continues next Sunday with Rising Star taking on New Uprising.
Meanwhile, the final of the Busta 40 overs competition will be played between Hampshire and New Uprising. The Bartica Cricket Committee will meet to decide the date and venue.
