Half-centuries from Raj Mangal (65*) and Parmanand Dindidyal (50) and 4-16 from Chatterpaul Singh led home team Enterprise to a first round victory against city side Transport Sports Club (TSC) on Sunday in 1st round action of the Demerara zone of the Neal & Massy National 40-overs 1st division cricket competition.
Former National Under-19 player Kellon Carmichael stroked 7 fours and 2 sixes in an undefeated 60 while Chandra Persaud (42) and Shane Cummings (23) chipped in as TSC made 188-6 when their 40 overs expired.
Singh took 4-16 from 8 overs of on-target leg-spin on a slow track for the East Coast line-up who replied with 189-6 to win with 2 overs to spare.
Mangal played several delightful shots and reached the boundary 7 times in his unfinished 65 while Mangal’s even half-century included 4 fours.
Demerara Under-19 medium pacer Carl Rambarose took 4-34 for TSC in a losing cause. The versatile Carmichael, who bowled 7 overs for 28 runs, then took over the wicketkeeping duties and had two stumpings.
