Guyanese drivers Andrew King and Kevin Jeffrey will have to drive their hearts out at Bushy Park in Barbados this Sunday if they hope to be in the reckoning for the final leg of the Caribbean Series which takes place on November 8 at the South Dakota Circuit.
Absent from the opening Meet in Jamaica, the Guyanese pair enter this Sunday’s event on zero points and are well behind Jamaican champion David Summerbell, who leads the Series with 30 points, 8 ahead of Barbadian and defending champion Stuart Maloney, while his brother Mark is on 14.
King pilots a Mazda RX 7, while Jeffrey drives in a Mitsubishi Evolution VIII, and they will campaign in the Group 4 category.
Guyana’s quest for supremacy does not stop there as Gavin Gayadin, who drives a BMW E318I and Gavin Gouveia in a turbocharged Toyota Starlet will also be seeking top honours in the other divisions, while Super Bikers Stephen Vieira and Maurice Menezes will also be travelling to the island to compete.
A large contingent of Guyanese fans along with the media will be present at the Barbados event which is expected to boost its sports tourism programme.
