Police on the Essequibo Coast arrested a man, moments after he sold an amplifier which he had broken into a car and stolen.
Reports are that on Monday last, Richard Pittan, of Queenstown, left his car parked at Charity and went to transact some business.
When the man returned to his car he noticed his amplifier was missing along with $25,000 in cash which he had left in the vehicle. The matter was reported, and acting on information received, police yesterday went to the Anna Regina Market when they arrested the suspect who had just sold the amplifier.
The man was also had $25,000 in his possession.
He was taken into police custody and charges are likely.
