Scottsburg United defeated Port Mourant in their semi-final to join Rose Hall Town Pepsi in the final of the 2009 Spready’s bakery Under-19, 50-over Cricket Competition in Berbice.
In the match which was played at the Port Mourant Ground, Scottsburg United beat Port Mourant by 107 runs.
Scottsburg United winning the toss and batting first made 203 all out in 39 overs with Devon Hinds top scoring with 38, Mark Lionel 28 and national Under-19 allrounder Alex Amsterdam 20. Bowling for Port Mourant pacer George Hughes took 4 for 37 from 8 overs and Jerrick 2 for 35 from 5 overs.
When Port Mourant batted, they were bowled out for 94 in 28.1 overs with Bisham Persaud scoring 23. Bowling for Scottsburg United, offspinner Amsterdam took 4 for 16 from 6 overs, offspinner Akram Razack 3 for 23 from 8 overs and medium pacer Marvin Henry 2 for 25 from 6 overs.
The final is fixed for the Rose Hall Town Ground tomorrow and starts at 09:30 am.
