Kitty into semis; Merriman’s Mall & Golden Grove are no shows
The quarter finals of the Inter-Market Football Competition begin tonight at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground.
Bourda oppose New Amsterdam in opening play from 18:00hrs, with La Penitence up against Plaisance in the main attraction at 20:00hrs.
On Saturday, Stewartville clash with Wismar in the final quarter game from 19:00hrs at the same venue.
Kitty earned an easy passage into the semi finals due to the non appearance of both Merriman’s Mall and Golden Grove.
In latest play, Vendors Arcade failed to show up for their game against Wismar Market at the GFC ground on Tuesday.
In the lone game, New Amsterdam stunned the star studded Stabroek 2-1, Colin Bowry (14 & 51) banging the double that sent Stabroek packing.
Stabroek’s consolation goal came off the boot of Solomon Austin in the 61st minute.
The strong Stabroek team featured the likes of Anthony and Neville Stanton, Jerome Richardson and Austin, but their presence never intimidated the lads from the Ancient County.
The city market side had a chance to level the score in the 68th minute when Richardson missed a certain opportunity after receiving a ball in the six-yard box from where he missed.
