Hillfoot Strikers will square off with Dynas Bravado in the Guyana Softball and Windball Cricket Association (GS&WCA) sponsored 15-15 Tapeball Cricket final on August 22 following semi-final matches last weekend at the GS&WCA ground on Carifesta Avenue.
Hillfoot defeated Finewood Marketing Inc. by 17 runs in their semi-final encounter while Bravado booked their place after Neal and Massy forfeit their game.
In the Hillfoot/Finewood fixture, Hillfoot made 114 all out with Vickram Looknauth top scoring with 30 which included three sixes and one four. J. Marino 2 for 13 led the bowling for Finewood who in their turn at the crease were bowled out for 98. W. Larose made 24 and H. Singh 23 in a losing cause. Vickram Looknauth captured 3 for 8 and Naresh Bhagwandin 2 for 16 for the winners.
Bravado advanced when Neal and Massy refused to play after a disputed call and thereby forfeited the match, the organisers said.
Earlier, Hillfoot had beaten Falcon by one wicket. Batting first Falcon were bowled out for 99 with Rasco Urling top scoring with 31. Naresh Bhagwandin and Avinash Mohabir took two wickets each for Hillfoot who hit off the required runs for the loss of nine wickets.
Bravado also defeated Mocha by 2 wickets in their quarter-final, batting first Mocha made 77 for 9 wickets in 15 overs. Seon Sertimer claimed 3 for 6 and Eon Joyce 3 for 7. Bravado in their turn made 78 for 8 wickets.
Neal and Massy had beaten Guyana Water Inc. by four wickets to advance to the semis.
Batting first, GWI made 104 for 9 wickets in 15 overs; Dwayne Caesar made 34 not out. A. Hamid captured 3 for 13.
N & M in their turn at the crease made 110 for 6 wickets, R. Singh made 38 and Mark Singh 26 while for Neal and Massy while GWI’s Ravi Parsram took 2 for 10.
The final will be played at the GS&WCA ground on August 22 starting at 15:00 hours.
The winners will receive a Trophy, $15,000 and medals while the runners up will secure a Trophy and $10,000.
Finewood Marketing Inc. will take home a Trophy for securing the third place after Neal and Massy will be debarred from playing the game.
There will also be prizes for the Player of the final, the player scoring the most runs, the bowler taking the most wickets, the best all-rounder and the most disciplined team.
