Sixty less fortunate children and expectant mothers, along the Essequibo Coast, were recently the recipients of hampers.
The gifts were donated by the Georgetown-based Bernice Mansell Foundation.
President of the Essequibo branch, Monica David, said her parent foundation has over the years been targeting and making generous donation, annually, especially to the less fortunate.
According to David, children along the coast look forward to receiving gifts from the foundation, especially during the August holidays and at Christmas.
The children who came from as far as Johanna Cecilia to Capoey received gifts in the form of books and stencils, while expectant mothers were recipients of soaps and sheets.
One expectant mother, Michelle Dodson, said that she was most grateful for the timely donation.
