The police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at about 03:00 hours yesterday at Queenstown Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice, during which Seymour Davis, 27 of No.78 Village, Corentyne, was shot and injured below his left eye.
According to the police Davis and his girlfriend were driving separate vehicles along the roadway when a motor car with two men inside drove across and blocked their path.
One of the men came out of the vehicle and confronted Davis during which he pulled out a firearm and discharged a round which grazed Davis below his eye.
The two men then escaped in their motor vehicle, while Davis was taken to the Skeldon Hospital where he was treated and sent away.
