Karatekas of the Great Diamond Martial Arts Association (GDMAA), situated in Great Diamond EBD continues to perform creditably in local championships.
Last Sunday, August 2, they once again proved their mettle after entering the Harpy Eagle Karate Championship at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall and once again left an indelible mark. Master of the GDMAA, Lloyd Ramnarine expressed great satisfaction with the performances of his charges and urged them to continue aspiring for greater accolades.
Overall, the club accrued a grand total of 35 medals- 13 gold, 12 silver and 10 bronze. The results of the championships are: 5 years and under, Yesania Daljety (3 gold medals), Adeial Reid (2 silver medals).
6-8 years: Abrar Whaid (2 gold medals), Marvin Calvan (1 bronze), Krishna Jaecobus (2 bronze) and Jeanese Reid (2 silvers and a bronze).
9-11 Lloyd Smith (2 silver and 1 bronze), George Lim (1 gold and a silver), Sunil Persaud (2 bronze), Julius (1 gold and a silver), Shenna Jacobus (1 bronze).
12-14yrs- Anthony Harricharran (2 golds and a silver) and Steven Persaud (3 golds and a silver). 15-17 yrs-Javid Udai (1 gold), Beatrice Simon (1 gold and a silver), Ariann Calvan (1 silver).
The executive of the GDMAA wishes to express profound gratitude to the corporate entities and individuals that contributed towards their success.
