Just over a week after Genevieve Mc Bean was attacked and robbed at her place of employment by two men, one of whom has since been charged for the robbery under arms, her home has been burglarised.
Relatives are of the opinion that the woman and her family are being targeted.
Early yesterday morning, Mrs. Mc Bean woke up and went to the bottom flat of her house where she discovered the back door open and her house ransacked.
According to a close relative of the woman, up to noon yesterday they only noticed that a laptop and a few pairs of sneakers were missing. The relatives said that the family did not check the place thoroughly to see what was missing since police ranks visited earlier and were expected back later in the day to take fingerprints.
Two Thursdays ago, Mrs. Mc Bean, was attacked by two men while opening her office at the Hope For All Foundation in Suddie, Essequibo.
During the incident, the woman managed to unmask one of her attackers who was carrying a knife. The woman was able to positively identify the man whom she pointed out to the police.
The man was subsequently charged for robbery under arms and was placed on bail.
However, the other man who was involved in the robbery is still at large.
Relatives said they are of the opinion that it might be the same person out on bail, who may be responsible for yesterday’s incident.
The matter has since been reported and investigations are ongoing.
