Selwyn Vaughn, the star witness in the trial involving Roger Khan’s former defence attorney, Robert Simels, is wanted in Guyana on several charges of forgery and fraud.
Case dockets obtained by Kaieteur News revealed that Selwyn Troy Vaughn has at least five charges still pending against him for offences committed in Guyana in 2005.
According to the documents, Vaughn, of Lot 561 Block ‘B’ Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, along with Michael Persaud, of Sandy Babb Street, Kitty; and Christopher Li of 323 Cummings Street are on two charges for forgery of document with intent to defraud; two charges for uttering a forged document, and one charge for endeavouring to obtain upon a forged instrument.
It is alleged that on Tuesday June 14, 2005, at NBIC in Water Street, Georgetown, Vaughn and the two other accused, with intent to defraud, forged a national ID card, number 1373032 in favour of Chandrakally. A. Das.
It is also alleged that on Tuesday June 14, 2005, at NBIC Water Street, Georgetown, the same accused, with intent to defraud, forged a Guyana passport Number 0930063 in favour of Chandrakally. A. Das, purporting to be signed by the said Chandrakally. A. Das.
It is further alleged that on Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at NBIC Water Street, Georgetown, the accused, with intent to defraud, endeavoured to receive or obtain, by virtue of forged instrument, the sum of $2M from account number 218-637-7 in the name of Chandrakally A. Dass.
But Vaughn slipped out of the country before the matters could be completed.
At present, he is testifying in a US court against former Roger Khan attorney, Simels.
Under oath, Vaughn, a self-confessed former member of the so-called ‘phantom squad’, alleged this week that Khan ordered the killing of television personality, Ronald Waddell, and boxing coach, Donald Allison, and Dave Persaud at Palm Court.
He also alleged Minister of Health, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy, facilitated the purchase of the infamous “laptop with surveillance software”, for Roger Khan.
