Jamol Adams yesterday faced Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to answer to the charge of robbery under arms.
The accused was not required to plea to the indictable charge.
It is alleged that on January 8, last, while armed with a knife, stole one Laptop valued at $180,000. When asked by Magistrate Octave-Hamilton how old he was, Adams told the court, 16.
The magistrate again asked the accused how old he was and he repeated, 16.
The mother of the accused then came forward, offering to the court that her son did not know his true age. She told the court that he was born in 1991; that he is in fact 18.
Police Prosecutor Steven Telford requested that the defendant be remanded. The defendant was remanded until August 17.
