The race for the final four quarter-final spots in the Guinness/Georgetown Football Association/Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport/National Sports Commission Futsal, will end this evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Santos lock horns with Northern Rangers in the first of four quarter-final games at 21:00hrs. This game being preceded by two exhibition matches, Guinness Bar opposing Oasis Water from 19:30hrs, to be followed by a female match up between Northern Rangers and Eagles.
The referees will hang up their whistles temporarily at 21:40hrs, when they take centre court in what is expected to be a fierce contest against the GFA Officials, featuring President and Secretary of the Association Troy Mendonca and Marlan Cole along with Lester Sealey among others.
Otis James, Roy Mc Arthur and Wayne ‘Harry’ Joseph lead the referees’ challenge in a game where lots of fireworks are expected.
After this clash it will be back to the quarter-final focus, with Uprising tackling Black Pearl, Fruta Conquerors testing Beacons and the feature match between BK International Western Tigers and Georgetown Football Club.
Only four teams though, will move on with the others going home. Unlike the first night of quarter-finals, tonight’s teams are more balanced and some surprises might be in store since its tough to predict outright winners.
Whichever way it goes, fans can expect another entertaining evening of action. Some of the players on show tonight will be Omali Nassy, Devon Millington, Peter Parks, Lester Peters, Delon Williams, Quacy Price, Gerald Gritten and Gregory Denny among others. (Franklin Wilson)
