Three men are in police custody after a police roadblock at Fort Wellington when ranks stopped and searched a motor vehicle, yesterday.
It was about 11:00 hours when the police stopped the vehicle at the roadblock. A police report stated that the ranks discovered four sheep in the vehicle and the men could not account for their presence nor did they have any receipt to indicate a purchase.
Three men were arrested.
A woman from Number Nine Village, West Coast Berbice, later identified one of the animals as being stolen from her.
And in more police reports, about 23:00hours Saturday night, acting on information, the police went to East La Penitence, Georgetown, where they recovered an unlicensed 9mm. pistol with 15 matching rounds which were found in the vicinity of the East La Penitence bridge.
Three men have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
