The Competitions Committee of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) would shortly be hosting an inaugural Under-13 Inter Zone tournament. It is expected to be officially launched next week.
The Junior Selection Committee of the Board would shortly be conducting trials across the County to select teams form West Berbice, New Amsterdam/Canje, Lower Corentyne and Central/Upper Corentyne.
Clubs are advised to submit names of their Under-13 players to the Chairman of the Selection Committee so they can be called to trials. For players to be eligible they must be born on or after September 1st, 1996.
The Board would also like to inform all clubs in Berbice that an Under-17 Inter Club tournament is expected to start shortly.
Clubs who are interested in playing in the tournament are asked to call the Board’s Office in New Amsterdam on telephone number 333-2375 to be registered by Friday July 24, 2009.
Players competing in this tournament would have to be born on or after September 1st, 1992. The Berbice Junior Selection Committee would use the tournament to select four teams for the Republic Bank Inter Zone Under-17 competition scheduled to commence mid August.
