Missing US citizen…
With no new clues about his whereabouts, relatives of missing US citizen, Rumel Jabronewet are continuing to plead with persons with information about his disappearance to come forward.
The 67-year-old man vanished on June 12, the very day that he landed in Guyana, and relatives have received conflicting reports about his possible whereabouts.
On Friday, police questioned a shopkeeper who claimed that the American attempted to purchase a beverage from his Company Road, Buxton business place on the night of June 12, the same day that he went missing.
They also questioned a female relative who resides at the house in Buxton that Jobronewet had visited, and ranks scoured the back of the village without finding a trace of him.
Some Buxtonians who spoke with Kaieteur News insist that no one would harm a member of the well-respected family, which has ties to the village.
But Jobronewet’s relatives say they have also been told that he was spotted at Timehri and at Victoria, East Coast Demerara, on Monday 15.
They have ruled out speculation that he has returned to the US, since a relative has his airline ticket.
One of the things that is baffling them is that since the extensive media coverage of his disappearance, they have received no further reports about the missing man.
“People are calling to sympathise with the family and to offer prayers, but they are not calling to give any other information,” one relative told Kaieteur News yesterday.
According to reports, the missing man was wearing a white shirt, jeans, a pair of black shoes and a white Kangol cap.
He was reportedly also carrying three bags, including a red one marked ‘California.’
Persons with information of Mr. Jobronewet’s whereabouts can contact his relatives 222-2688, or contact the nearest police station.
