Four months after being committed to stand trial for murder, Ashanti ‘Blondie’ Shultz has appeared in the High Court.
The mother of one of self confessed drug king pin, Shaheed Roger Khan’s children, made an appearance on Thursday in the High Court before Justice William Ramlal.
During her first appearance in the High Court on Thursday, the jury was empanelled and the case was been put down for Monday.
In February, 27-year-old Shultz, a broker, of 109 Eccles, East Bank Demerara, was committed in the Magistrates’ Court to stand trial for the September 18, 2007 murder of Kenrick Nero, a 58-year-old hospital porter.
She was committed by Magistrate Oneidge Walrond-Allicock.
It was reported that Shultz and other women were involved in an argument,, when she allegedly went to her car and took out the weapon.
She then allegedly fired shots in a wild manner, hitting Nero who died, and two other men, but missing her intended target.
Nero was said to be sitting next to a ticket booth close to the New Courtyard Restaurant and Bar when he was hit.
Shultz is being represented by Defense Counsel, Nigel Hughes, in association with Mark Waldron.
