National Cycling Coach, Hassan Mohamed has organised a cycle race programme for Saturday from 09:00hrs at the National Park Circuit.
The programme is sponsored by Anchor–Hi–Calcium, whose agent is Geddes Grant (Guy) Limited and involves 11 races.
The main event is the School Boys & Novices -35-Laps.
Meanwhile, Mohamed MS has also organised the Castrol 10th Annual Father’s Day 50-Mile Cycle Road Race on Sunday.
The race will commence from Wales Police Station at 09:00hrs, proceed to Bushy Park on the East Bank of Essequibo before returning to end at the Demerara Harbour Bridge.
The Veteran and Upright competitors will turn back at Uitvlugt Community Centre and finish at the Harbour Bridge.
The first six finishers will receive prizes – the first 3 Juniors, 3 veterans, and 3 Upright cyclists would also receive prizes.
Eight Prime Prizes will be up for grabs during the race.
The first Over-60 Veteran to finish receives a special prize and Castrol’s Brands Manager Leonard Khan will be on hand to distribute the awards to the winners.
John Charles won last year’s race in a time of 1 hour, 59 minutes, 24.86 seconds.
The 2008 Junior champion was Christopher Holder, the veteran winner Gary Benjamin and the winner in the Upright category Andrea Petty.

Veteran Under-50 yrs -5 Laps
Veteran Over-50 yrs -5 Laps
Juveniles -10 Laps
Upright Cyclists -5 Laps
BMX Boys Open -3 Laps
BMX Boys 12 to 14 yrs -3 Laps
BMX Boys 9 to 12 yrs -3 Laps
BMX Boys 6 to 9 yrs -2 Laps
BMX Girls 6 to 12 yrs -1 Lap
BMX Boys Open -3 Laps
