A woman escaped death last evening at the hands of her husband, when she was chopped in her back following a dispute.
Mahadai Seeriechand was chopped last evening at Nootenzuil, East Coast Demerara, by her husband who was hiding in an old minibus on the roadside.
The mother of five, told Kaieteur News that she moved out of her husband’s Clonbrook home last Friday following a disagreement.
She said that yesterday her husband went to her sister’s house, where she had sought refuge, and requested to speak with her, but was turned away.
Last evening, she said, he hid in an old bus on the street, near a lantern post for her to pass and fired several chops at her.
She was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where she was admitted for wounds to the back.
