RAMPUR VILLAGE, CORENTYNE – Police at Springlands are investigating what is believed to be an attempted robbery of a teenager.
According to reports, about 20:40 hours on Sunday, 19-year old Jennifer Rampersaud of Lot 43 Rampur Village on the Corentyne, was injured during the alleged attack.
The teen was said to be alone at home when two masked men, one of whom was armed with a cutlass and the other a gun, entered the building through an eastern doorway which was left ajar.
The men confronted Jennifer Rampersaud and demanded money and jewellery. The intruders found nothing after searching the home, and lashed out at the woman with the cutlass, then escaped.
She sustained injuries to the head and shoulder and had to be treated at Skeldon Hospital.
