The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has recognised the contributions of a number of senior World renowned football stalwarts for their collective contributions to the development of the game over the years.
At the CONCACAF Congress on June 1, 2009 held at the Atlantis Hotel on Paradise Island, Nassau Bahamas, the GFF presented plaques to FIFA President Joseph Sepp Blatter; FIFA Vice President who is also CONCACAF and CFU President Jack Austin Warner; FIFA Committee Member and CONCACAF General Secretary Chuck Blazer, CONCACAF Executive Member Harold Taylor and FIFA Development Officer Harold Taylor a former CFU General Secretary and CONCACAF Executive member, Lisle Austin.
GFF President Colin Klass in brief remarks before the presentation stated that the awardees collectively have contributed more than 150 years of their lives to football with committed, dedicated and selfless service way beyond the call of duty.
“They have all represented us at every level with great distinction giving all of us every reason to be proud. We at the GFF feel that these persons aught to be recognised at a time when they can appreciate it.”
The local governing body for the World’s greatest sport has in the past recognised the contribution of Ms. Pat Modeste, who stands out as one of the longest serving Personal Assistants to CFU President, Warner.
