Michael Phillips, who was critically injured while attempting to remove a hive of bees from at roof at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, has succumbed to his injuries.
Hospital sources said that Phillips had been in a coma ever since he fell off a scaffold at the airport.
According to the source, Phillips was taken off a life support machine at the request of relatives, on Wednesday.
Phillips, 45, of 24 Coverden, East Bank Demerara, was removing the bees from a roof at the CJIA on May 21, when he fell from a scaffold.
He was rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre with head injuries and a broken left leg, but was later transferred to the GPHC in an unconscious state.
