Wounding accused Thomas Harry, 50, of 22 Public Road, Agricola, made an appearance yesterday before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It is alleged that on May 24, 2008, at Agricola, he unlawfully and maliciously inflicted grievous bodily harm on Travda David. He was not required to plead to the indictable offence. Thomas was unrepresented yesterday in court. According to the defendant, the virtual complainant is a known gang member and that David had tried to rob him when he was injured.
However Police Prosecutor Denise Griffith asked that bail be refused. The prosecutor stated that the defendant has similar matters of this nature before the courts. Bail was denied and Harry is expected to make another court appearance on June 15.
