Facilitating Golden Jaguars Parbo Beer Cup participation
President of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA), Troy Mendonca, has informed that the Association has temporarily put on hold, the Cellink Premier League (CPL) and this is due to Guyana’s participation in the Parbo Beer Cup in neighbouring Suriname from June 1 – 8.
Mendonca also informed that one of the Guyana Football Federation policies stipulate that clubs with more than three players on the national team must be accommodated, thus the suspension of the CPL.
Defending CPL champions Alpha United and the Guyana Defence Force are clubs with more than three players on the national team.
Alpha and the GDF are also tied at the top of the current point’s standings of the CPL.
