The police are still searching for 17-year-old Mark Lawrence who has been missing for the past two months.
Kaieteur News understands that the officers at the Parika Police station have now focused their search for the youth in Puruni, Middle Mazaruni.
The boy’s mother, Indranie, said that on March 16, last, her son left home in Fort Island, Essequibo River, with Anand, a friend from the community, to visit Bartica.
However, according to the woman, the friend came back after two weeks, wearing her son’s clothes.
When she enquired from him the whereabouts of her son, he told her that her son is safe and that she should not worry.
But when the police finally questioned Anand, he told them that Lawrence is in Puruni.
Indranie said that her son would never leave the house for more than two days and she finds it strange that it is more than two months since he has gone missing without even contacting the family.
“I don’t know where my son is and everyday I cry for him,” Indranie said.
