Georgetown, are the 2009 Guyana Football Federation Inter-Association Under-15 champs. The city lads trounced East Coast 4-0 at the Tucville ground yesterday to lift the title.
Up at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground, Upper Demerara turned back the challenge of visitors East Bank 3-0 to claim third.
At the Tucville ground, the city side controlled the game for the most part with the East Coast side giving up two own goals as a result of poor communication between the goalkeeper and his defence.
The first goal came on the first run down, an own goal, Ziki Bunbury in his haste to clear the ball from the offensive play by Georgetown succeeded in slicing it past his own goalkeeper, Jamal Booker in the first 1st minute.
Exchanges thereafter were up and down as neither team were able to really dominate the opposition but the host team enjoyed the better of the exchanges.
East Coast were able to keep out the city side until the 3rd minute of the 2nd half, Romario Andrews finishing from a well placed cross. Poor work in defence again by the East Coast lads accounted for goal number three, this time Kelvin Bowen was the culprit.
Sealing the deal for Georgetown was Trevor Britton whose well executed shot from the right side was too much for Booker to handle in the 79th minute.
The presentation of prizes will be done at a later date.
