A 53-year-old motorcyclist was killed at around 18:30 hrs on Saturday at Devonshire, Essequibo coast, after he was struck by a reversing truck.
According to reports, Sugrim Seewah was attempting to ride past the truck that was in the process of dumping mud into the yard of a resident when the vehicle struck him.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Suddie Hospital.
The driver, identified as Danesh Persaud of Anna Regina, has been detained.
Seewan’s wife, Mahanie told Kaieteur News that her husband was returning from Coffee Grove, Essequibo when he met his demise.
She related that although he was riding with a helmet he still suffered severe head and facial injuries.
