As the Guyana Badminton Association continues its Junior drive, President of the association, Gokarn Ramdhani, along with several members were invited by Ms. Terri Stuart of Bishops’ High School Old Students Association on Tuesday last to assist the school with improving and developing their Badminton programme.
That programme was recently restarted. Physical Education (PE) Teacher Ms. Kendra Squires introduced the players, interested persons and the GBA representatives.
Demonstrations of the basic rules and on-court play were done, along with some verbal explanations to the students.
The interest shown was heartening to the GBA members. The basic play included, warm up exercises, court runs, singles and doubles play, court drills and other basic exercises.
The GBA plans to make regular visits to ensure the game is taken to a higher level at the school.
Shuttlecocks and DVDs on Badminton were presented to the PE Teacher.
The GBA expressed pleasure in witnessing the interest shown.
