Rockland College student Amrit Etwaroo produced a brilliant final round of 75 to storm to an emphatic four-stroke victory over Robert Pepi and 7 strokes over Ryan LaConture to capture the NCJAA Region Golf Tournament XV at Grosssinger Country Club in Liberty, NY recently.
After the first day’s play, three players were tied with 78 after 27 holes, but Etwaroo had 3 birdies in the last 7 holes to seal the win.
Etwaroo will be competing against various States players in the four-day 2009 National Junior Golf Championship, which will be held on June 1-5 at Chautaugua Golf Club, NY.
Etwaroo, a sophomore at Rockland College, where he is majoring in Business Administration, helped his team to win the 2009 Mid Hudson Conference Division.
