Five former employees of Republic Bank yesterday appeared in Georgetown Magistrates’ Court charged with defrauding the company.
The five, Wilfred Mc Cado, Steven Gangadeen, Manniram Beharry, Deodat Narine Rampersaud, and Saisenarine Rampersaud made their appearance before Magistrate Melissa Robertson.
The five were all charged with conspiracy to commit a felony between April 24 and May 11, 2007. They reportedly used false withdrawal slips to obtain money from Republic Bank.
Beharry was charged with one count while the others were read multiple charges.
The men all pleaded not guilty and were granted bail.
Beharry was granted bail to the tune of $85,000; Saisenarine Rampersaud, $170,000; Deodat Rampersaud, $680,000; Gangadeen, $680,000; and Mc Cado, $680,000.
The five are expected to make their next court appearance on June 24.
