The second annual Tenelec Inc. sponsored Berbice first Division 50-over Round Robin Cricket Competition is scheduled to commence tomorrow from 09:30hrs with three matches.
Edinburgh Cricket Club of East Bank Berbice, will become the 13th first division team in Guyana’s second largest county and will play in Zone A (New Amsterdam/Canje/East Bank/West Berbice) along with Young Warriors, Rose Hall Community Centre, Bermine, Police, Blairmont Community Centre and West Berbice.
Albion Community Centre, Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar, Port Mourant, Scotsburg United, Skeldon Community Centre and Upper Corentyne will participate in Zone B (Corentyne) and the top two teams from each zone advance to the semi-finals.
The Preliminary rounds are scheduled to be completed on June 6, and tomorrow, Blairmont Community Centre play West Berbice at Blairmont with Umpires Rafik Latiff and Augustus Outar in charge, Albion Community Centre face-off with Upper Corentyne at Port Mourant with Zaheer Moakan and Imran Moakan being the Umpires. Scotsburg United battle Skeldon Community Centre at Scotsburg with John King and Sean Coonjah being the on-field officials.
