A 68 year-old Sophia man has been taken into police custody after it was reported that he sexually molested two toddlers.
Reports are that the man was arrested some time after noon yesterday after the children’s parents reported their suspicions to the police.
This newspaper was told that the two toddlers involved are aged three and four.
According to reports, the four-year-old child lives with the man while the three- year-old lives next door.
Sources also said the three-year-old was reportedly molested while her mother went to a neighborhood shop to make a purchase and the child went to the man after being called, to stay with him.
“Is a li’l child and like he call she and she just go to he fuh play,” a relative said.
However while the child was being given a shower she began crying as her mother attempted to clean her private parts. When questioned, the child said, “Uncle push he finger in me”.
The mother of the other toddlers said that after being told by her neighbour what the child related she became suspicious of her daughter since she said that on more than one occasion she recalled leaving her daughter with the same man.
They two women then immediately went to the Kitty Police Station where they made a report.
The man was arrested at his Sophia home and the children were sent for a medical examination.
Investigations are ongoing.
