Kenroy Rose, of Cummings Street, Buxton, is fortunate to be alive after his car caught fire while he was driving on the Soesdyke/Linden highway on Thursday night.
Rose has reportedly told police that he was in the vicinity of Yarrowkabra when the lights of an approaching vehicle blinded him.
He was reportedly forced to pull to the side of the roadway and ended up slamming into the kerb.
The vehicle, which had reportedly been overheating, then burst into flames.
Fortunately, Rose managed to exit the vehicle in time.
He reportedly sustained minor burns.
Firefighters were summoned to extinguish the blaze but the vehicle was destroyed.
